"Cannibalism"

This was quote was from the movie Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory; “Everything in this room is eatable. Even I'm eatable. But that is called cannibalism, my dear children, and is in fact frowned upon in most societies”.
This dialoged was used in a fictional movie but the fact he stated about cannibalism true that society do not consent about cannibalism. I was surprise that South Pacific was part cannibalism in the 19th century. I was even more surprised that some part of southern Philippines reported the practiced of cannibalism in the past. I was just used to the fact whenever people talk about cannibalism, they mainly mean cannibalism in Africa.
Many tribal culture considered cannibalism as norm they believe in consuming the dead helps guiding the souls. Other believe consuming the defeated enemy gives them power of the enemy when they were still alive. Other places cannibalism is a result of a desperate situation such as famine, hunger and other similar condition. There are also reported of cannibalism due to result of tragic event such as shipwrecks and other similar. These type of incident is commonly a result of a type of cannibalism called necro-cannibalism. Eating the corpse of a already dead person.
Why I will not participate in cannibalism: Because of morality...humanity always in check, although we are considered on the top of the animal kingdom I don't consider myself an animal, because we were given the ability to think, to love. The ability to analyzed and weight the right from wrong. I believe that each person has given a voice deep within to us to always choose the right thing.
It somehow imprinted in our consciousness that is not right to eat another being. I remember reading it from history that other type of cannibalism is result of a war, some eats their enemies to gain their enemies' power after defeating them. This are from their belief or some call them traditions. Soldiers back home does the same thing to their captured prisoners. They cook and eat them, these can be found in social media such as youtube. A member from our church was a soldier and also eaten a person back when he was an active soldier. But after learning from the bible he realized the magnitude of what he did.
Another reason is that, it’s not healthy to eat human flesh because of prion diseases a group of uncommon brain diseases can be spread by eating human flesh, never heard of it before but these findings are just to prove that cannibalism is not good. For my conclusion I believe another person with his or her right mind should not partake in cannibalism no matter what the reason is, it is just inhuman just thinking about it.
